In a shocking incident, armed criminals attacked the flat of Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Chik Baraik in Alipurduar, raising serious concerns about nighttime security in the area. The attack took place on Wednesday night around 11 pm when miscreants entered the MP's flat, where an important party meeting was in progress. The intruders came searching for an individual named Khokon and proceeded to assault the caretaker before being apprehended by Trinamool workers and handed over to the police.
Flat secretary Neeladri Basu reported that three individuals forcibly entered the building, physically assaulted the caretaker, and then made their way into the meeting room of the Rajya Sabha MP. The attackers were found in possession of weapons, which were subsequently seized by the police.
